Sow them indoors or in containers for super-quick crops of nutrition-packed, tender, delicious greens so tiny you can sprinkle them on top of salads and sandwiches for a big nutrient punch!
Start as you would any lettuce seeds, sowing in rows in a container indoors or out, or beneath an Easy Tunnel or other protection outdoors. You probably won't have to thin them at all -- it's just a question of how densely you want them to grow! They can be grown year-round indoors, and are a cool-season crop outside, best in spring and fall in all climates as well as winter farther south and west.
