I bought the 14x24x16 cage. I picked this one because it is large enough that a chinchilla will be fine in there for longer visits (like ten days at a pet sitter’s) but it will still fit easily into my backseat car doors and onto the back seat of a sedan. For chinchillas, this cage is too large for actual transportation, because they’d get thrown around too much. (You need a domed carrier or the smallest transport cage you can get for that). The cage itself is so sturdy and substantial. The wires don’t bend and the joints are beautifully squared. The cage pan is thick enough that it doesn’t twist or warp when you remove it to clean. I was surprised by how sturdy this cage is, because it was replacing one of similar size that was much thinner and more delicate in terms of metal. Your bunny or rodent will not chew their way out of the cage. For what we needed, this was perfect.
